The Kansas City Chiefs roster currently sits at 75 players after the team released WR Jamar Newsome this morning.
Signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2011 as an undrafted free agent, Newsome bounced around the Jags, Steelers and Chiefs practice squads before being signed the the active roster in November 2012. The odds were against Newsome to make the 53-man roster but there was a chance he could impress.
Thankful for all the support from the fans, teammates, and coaches over these last three seasons here with the Chiefs... New chapter ensues!

Nick Jacobs' latest 53-man roster projection did not include Newsome on it.
The Chiefs receivers depth chart looks like this:

WR: Dwayne Bowe, Dexter McCluster, Junior Hemingway, Jamar Newsome, Rico Richardson
The Chiefs had one more player to cut before the 3 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) deadline today to get the roster down to 75 players. The next deadline comes on Saturday, August 31, when the Chiefs must be down to 53 players.
