After reading about the parking issue for the 1st preseason game of this current management's tenure, it sounds like more than just the first teams passing attack has some wrinkles to iron out. Is it just me or does it strike anyone else that they tried to solve a non existent problem there. Kansas City Fans have a reputation for some of the best lot atmospherics in the NFL. Say what you will about some of the inept rosters we have fielded over the years, when it came to tailgating, the Chief's nation took a back seat to no one. Our fan base always brought our A game. By the time the the Stones blared over the PA system we had filled Arrowhead with a serious case of PUMPED UP, VEIN POPPING, HOARSE VOICED, GAME FACE!!!! No Matter what kind of steaming turd had been laid out there on the field all season, we brought the noise. The Tailgate before the game was a big part of that. If you want fan support in a tough market you have to make the whole experience attractive and that includes getting the customer's ass in his seat.
This isn't rocket science we are talking about. Although it wasn't the best experience getting into the lot, I accepted the task because of the Shangra La of tailgating heaven that awaited within. Making getting into the lot even harder will sour the taste of even the best BBQ and passable football performance.
If the current management wants a bit of a honeymoon to get this franchise turned around they have to get this fixed before the regular season. The potential of the fan base was seen this year at training camp. Record crowds attended the Family Fun day. We desperately want to love our team, we want that old Arrowhead Magic. The management has to capitalize on that or it won't make any difference what they trot out onto the field.
