Photos: 49ers CB Perrish Cox drills Chiefs QB Chase Daniel, and Alex Smith, too

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

A few pictures of the time 49ers DB Perrish Cox blitzed and drilled KC Chiefs QB Chase Daniel, shortly after he was credited with a sack on Alex Smith. Yes, a cornerback had two sacks against KC.

By the time the second half rolled around in Friday's 49ers-Chiefs game, Chase Daniel was in the game. While he took three sacks, Chase completed all six of his pass attempts.

On Chase's second possession, midway through the third quarter, the Chiefs faced a 3rd-and-7 from their own 46-yard line. Chase snapped the ball and the 49ers sent defensive back Perrish Cox from the edge. Cox was running away from the press box side of the field, which is where I was sitting, so I saw it coming. Welcome to the blind side.

Oh man. That looks soo bad. It's so much worse when you don't know it's coming, which it doesn't appear that Chase did.

Luckily, Chase was all smiles after the game.

Since we're doing pictures of Perrish Cox, here's his other sack. Yes, a cornerback had two sacks tonight. He "sacked" Alex Smith but because the refs ruled the play over, not because Alex went down.
