Arrowheadlines: Kansas City Chiefs News 7/7

Good morning! Here is your Kansas City Chiefs news from across the internet. Enjoy!

Next Magnificent Seven from ESPN

On Saturday we ranked our top 40 players in the AFC West. Now, let's look at seven players who I think have a strong chance to break the elite list in 2014. Four of them are rookies. Here they are in alphabetical order...

...Eric Fisher, tackle, Kansas City Chiefs: The No. 1 overall pick should be a fixture for the Chiefs for many years.

Jameel McClain, Teammates Give Back At Football And Fitness Clinic from The Baltimore Sun

Conducted in association with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Greater Chesapeake, the session was attended by roughly 300 boys and girls ages 5 to 17.

Despite the heat, it didn't dim the enthusiasm as the kids had a good time hanging out with Cody, McClain, offensive tackle Michael Oher, former Ravens inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe, inside linebacker Bryan Hall, defensive lineman Arthur Jones, former Ravens outside linebacker Edgar Jones, who now plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, and inside linebackers coach Don "Wink" Martindale.

Herald Exclusive: Ex-OC Smith A Candidate To Resume Old Job At Albany State from The Albany Herald

Neither Smith nor head coach Mike White would confirm an impending hire, but sources associated with the team and school believe that Smith is the leading candidate.

Smith spent last season as an assistant offensive line coach with the Kansas City Chiefs, and if he takes the job at ASU he will replace Uyl Joyner, who stepped down as ASU's offensive coordinator in the spring to take a similar job at Dougherty High.

Previewing The Redskins' 2014 Free Agent Spending Spree from Hogs Haven

Branden Albert, Kansas City - Franchised by the Chiefs this spring, he'll either sign before training camp or not at all, most think. At 28, he's been the Chiefs' left tackle since 2010. Another UVA alum, he's attended high school in Glen Burnie, Md. Hmmm.

The AFC West's Top 40 from ESPN

There are 20 defensive players, 19 offensive players and one kicking specialist on the list. Without further ado, your (again, mine; I'm sure you will have plenty of opinions expressed in the comment section below) 2013 top 40 players in the AFC West:

1. Peyton Manning, quarterback, Denver: No suspense here. Manning was dominant last year, his first in the division. Yes, he is still a superstar.

2. Von Miller, linebacker, Denver: The third-year player is becoming one of the best defensive players in the NFL. An elite talent.

3. Jamaal Charles, running back, Kansas City: He was overshadowed by Adrian Peterson, but Charles was special in a comeback from a torn ACL.
