Kansas City Chiefs move playbooks to the iPad

Jamie Squire

The Kansas City Chiefs and half of the NFL now have their playbooks on iPads.

Last summer it was reported that the Kansas City Chiefs were strongly considering moving their playbooks to the iPad. This summer they did just that. Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports the KC Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars have both made the move to the iPad, meaning at least half the league is now putting their playbooks on iPads.

(Speaking of iPads, about that deal with Microsoft...)

The focus of the Marvez piece is the security in place to protect the information on the iPad. A Chiefs spokesman told Marvez: "Our security is very strong. The iPads will be managed by a mobile device management console along with multifactor level security."

There is little doubt in my mind that at some point down the road -- whether it be the Chiefs or another team -- will have that security compromised in some way. The only reason teams would put these security measures in place is if they were concerned the information could be stolen.
