300 pound D-linemen, healthy receivers, and running backs... QB's dismissed as Game Managers slow down the game, manage the clock, and manage field position. 300 pound humans are not supposed to run around for 40+ minutes without much of a breather.
A methodical QB like Alex Smith will not throw your receiver into an oncoming freight train of a safety or linebacker. He will (cringe) take the sack or sail one into the stands and you think WTF?
A smart QB let's his awesome (despite PFF nonsense) running back do the dirty work when it makes sense, gobble the clock and move the chains. Note that even a sack usually takes more time off the clock than an incomplete pass.
You will see more sacks, less interceptions, less fumbles and (Andy willing) a balance in rushing and passing scores. With that and a rested defense, the wins should come. There is plenty of talent to get this done.
