Ahhhhh Memorial Day weekend, A time to remember those that served our nation. The Harbinger of summer brings so many elements together that it as a Kansas City Sports fan it is seriously hard to focus on any topic.(Of course that might be the affect of that huge pitcher of top shelf Margarita in ice on the table) So lets see if I can separate out some of the threads that make up a sports fan beach umbrella.
First of all, the Chiefs koolaid is flowing hot and heavy and I have to confess it feels so good on the ragged edges on my Royals homer heart. I know It is unfounded until we actually play a game but isn't that why it is called koolaid? I don't know about any of you but if sacrificing a rooster and flinging it's blood onto a pentagram cured cancer despite not knowing why it worked I would be the chief rooster killer. So if kool aid cures this KC sports fan's pain then give me a months worth.
So arguing about the relative value of koolaid, what constitutes koolaid as to what is reasonable conjecture, all combines to get everyone's panties in a wad before a single down is played in a real game let alone in pre season. It attests to the passion of the regular Chiefs fan. It is why we come here and tussle with each other. It reminds me of Thanksgiving at my family with an open bar. If we can make it through the holiday without a police report it was a success. Yet if you ask any one of us if we love our family, to a person we all would say "What a stupid question. They are my family you fool! Of course I love them."
So as I reach the end of this pitcher let me say this, I love you guys yanno? Ya piss me off sometimes but hell who doesn't do that anymore. Be careful out there and see ya at the start of the season.
