Lets Get Optimistic

Yesterday I posted an article titled lets get realistic, that was simply what I thought might happen or has a better chance of happening than anything else. Today i would like to think more outside the box for this post.

We Will Trade Brandon Albert:

There has to be a team out there that would like to have Albert on their team. There are plenty of teams that need a LT, The Lions, Cardinals, Ravens, Chargers and Dolphins are among the ones that need one the most. I believe the Dolphins are serious about trading up for Lane Johnson and they aren't interested in Albert. I think the Lions and Cardinals picks in the second round are too high and valuable to give up for Albert. I would assume that the Ravens pick is too low in the second round for the Chiefs to consider it. So that leaves the Chargers I know they are in our division but that didn't stop Andy Reid when the Eagles traded McNabb to the Redskins. The Chargers give us their second round pick this year (45) and their third next year for Albert.

We Will Trade The Number 1 Pick:

From everything that I have heard and read the Jets are going to trade Revis to the Bucs for the Bucs 13th pick and some other picks in this years draft. I think with this the Jets now have the power to move up to number 1 and draft Geno Smith, because the Jags interest in him I believe is real. The Jets probably won't want to give up both the 9th and 13th pick and that is just fine with us because we will take the 9th pick their second round pick this year (39) and their first round pick next year. This will allow the Jets to get the QB that they desperately need and stay at 13 and get the CB they need to replace Revis.

I also believe that when we pick at 9 and Lane Johnson is still on the board we trade back to 12 with the Dolphins and they give us the 12th pick in the first and the first of their picks in the third round number 77.

Breakdown and Mock Draft:

So now that we have been moving and shaking we have collected some pretty good picks now and in the future. Here is the breakdown of what has happened.

We traded Brandon Albert to the Chargers for the 45th pick in the second round this year and the Chargers third round next year.

We traded the 1st overall pick to the Jets for the 9th, 39th and their first round pick next year.

We then traded the 9th pick to the Dolphins for the 12th and the 77th pick in this year draft.

So we now have the 12th in round 1, 39th and 45th in round 2, 63rd, 77th, and 96th in the third round and we have we have picked up an extra first and third round next year.

Round 1 Pick 12: Star Lotulelei= We need a DE that can put some pressure on the QB and this guy is it will help Poe and Jackson become better and could be one of the better D-lines in the league.

Round 2 Pick 39: Eric Reid= Can't believe this guy fell to us and he may not, but when he does this could be the steal of the draft, can play both safety positions and will be a superstar in the NFL for years to come, next to Berry with Flowers, Smith and Robinson if they gel could be the most dynamic defense in the league next year.

Round 2 Pick 45: Kyle Long= Did anyone think that when Dorsey and Reid attended Oregon's pro day were they really looking at Dion Jordan or were they looking at Kyle Long. Could come in and take over BA's LT spot and would be effective in that role.

Round 3 Pick 63: Kevin Reddick= Instant upgrade over anyone currently on the roster at SILB and will probably get the starting job unless the other ILB we take in round 5 gets the nod over him but either way strong pick here.

Round 3 Pick 77: Stedman Bailey= Good possession receiver had 25 TD's last year could be explosive, reminds me of Steve Smith of the Panthers could take the starting role over Baldwin during training camp.

Round 3 Pick 96: Tyler Wilson= We may have traded for Alex Smith but he isn't getting younger and we can't on Wilson here he presents the best value.

Round 4 Pick 99: Barrett Jones: This is a very good depth pick here with the potential to start with Hudson's status still up in the air.

Round 5 Pick 134: Nico Johnson= This is my sleeper pick I think this guy is going to be a beast and I am not sure why he isn't higher on some draft boards he will push Reddick for the starting ILB spot and will give us two very good ILB's for years to come.

Round 6 Pick 170: Marquise Goodwin= Regardless of what people might think we are weak at WR I am not convinced that Baldwin will turn out to be anything and from the sounds of it neither does Andy Reid plus he help us in the return game ran a very fast 40 at the combine.

Round 6 Pick 204: Zeke Motta= A very good value pick here that provide us with some depth with these picks at the safety position and the free agents we added this will be a very interesting position to watch come preseason time.

Round 7 Pick 207: Brandon McGee= You can never have enough corners.

I hope you guys enjoy this article and the one I wrote yesterday just trying to put some things out there on what I hope to expect we do in this draft. This is what I would love to see happen.
