So I am not sure if contingent trades happen in the NFL or not but I was thinking about what may happen with Revis and the Jets and I have heard rumblings that the Jets are seeking the 13th pick in the this years draft as well as the Bucs 3rd rounder this year 73rd overall. I know that the Bucs don't want to give up that compensation but when the draft gets closer it is a likely deal, I am not sure but if it does happen could there be a contingent deal in place with the Jets and Chiefs.
The Jets need a QB that is no secret in the NFL the QB situation is horrible, so what if they love Geno Smith and they have a feeling that the Jags do as well and they know that they need to get to number 1 to take him. Do the Jets put a contingent deal in place with the chiefs and say we will give you our 9th pick in the first round and the Bucs 13th pick for the number 1 so we can move up and take Geno but we can only do this if the Bucs give us this years first and third round picks for Revis.
According to the trade value chart we would be losing out a little but getting two first rounders for one is a good deal and the Jets still get to keep there 2nd rounder and both the 3rd rounders they would have. We could then maybe draft Lane Johnson if he falls to 9 which I don't see happening but maybe if the draft were to play out like this and we could take Vaccaro with the 13th or look to trade down from that spot and collect more picks.
Does anyone know if contingent deals are a real thing in the NFL and does anyone think that this trade could happen?
