Chiefs Depth Chart 2013

There has been many posts of a projected Depth Chart for next year so I figured i would take a crack a it. Mine will also provide a brief explanation for my choices. So without further ado, meet your Kansas City Chief team for 2013.

1- Alex Smith

2- Chase Daniel

3- Ricky Stanzi.

Honestly the top two QBs come as no surprise, and some of you project that Bray will beat out Stanzi. Im not so sure, Stanzi is a better QB and has more "experience" in the NFL. Bray needs some time to mature and really learn the tempo of the NFL, Stanzi will be the third QB and Bray will be in the practice squad, cutting Alex Tanney.

1- Jamaal Charles

2- Cyrus Gray

3- Knile Davis

Knile Davis although a great RB with a ton of upside needs to learn behind some more experienced backs. Although Gray will be a sophomore, he has played in an NFL game. Davis can contribute on Special Teams until ready for the NFL.

1- Braden Wilson

This is a no brainer. Although we have Nate Eachus and Shane Bannon, Wilson is a better overall prospect than either of the actual FBs.

1- Dwayne Bowe

2- Jonathan Baldwin

3- Donnie Avery

4- Dexter McCluster

5- Devon Wylie

6- Junior Hemingway

The first 5 on this list are no surprise, Hemingway is a pretty decent WR he just never got the chance to showcase his talent last year. Both Wylie and Hemingway will contribute on Special Teams. Do not be surprised if Avery surpasses Baldwin for the #2 receiver.

1-Anthony Fassano

2-Travis Kelce

3-Tony Moeaki

Im not a big fan of Fasano but the coaching staff seems to love him. Kelce will provide the X-factor at TE being an all-around guy. Moeaki will be used very rarely but still quite useful and insurance if any of these TEs go down.

LT- Branden Albert

LG- Jeff Allen

C- Rodney Hudson

RG- Jon Asamoah

RT- Eric Fisher

T- Donald Stephenson

G- Geoff Schwartz

C/G- Eric Kush

This needs no explanation, other than the fact that Fisher will play the 2013 season at RT until Branden Albert leaves in 2014, just so he gains experience. Albert will not be traded this offseason.

DT- Dontari Poe

LDE- Tyson Jackson

RDE- Mike DeVito

DE- Allen Bailey

DT- Anthony Toribio

DT- Jerell Powe

The starting DL is set with Poe, Jackson and DeVito. Bailey will be used in sub packages as well as Toribio. All of these can play any position along the DL, except maybe Powe. This was a pretty obvious scenario.

LOLB- Justin Houston

ROLB- Tamba Hali

3- Edgar Jones

4- Cameron Sheffield

5- Mike Catapano

The depth here is pretty bad, but with Houston and Hali as reliable we do not need that much depth. Jones and Sheffield are pretty decent and provide Special team help. I believe Catapano will get a shot on being on the 53-man roster but he wont see playing time.

SILB- Nico Johnson

WILB- Derrick Johnson

3-Akeem Jordan

4- Zac Diles

This needs no explanation whatsoever, Johnson x2 will become a great LB duo and Diles and Jordan will prvide depth and isnurance.

1-Brandon Flowers

2- Sean Smith

3- Dunta Robinson

4- Javier Arenas

5- DeQuan Menzie

6-Jalil Brown

DeQuan Menzie although listed at S played the nickel back CB role at Alabama like Javier Arenas did before him. He has more talent than Jalil Brown and has better coaching. The other 4 CB are of no surprise. Jalil Brown does make the team but sees little action, close to none and if he does he plays on special teams.

1- Eric Berry

2-Tysyn Hartman

Eric berry is undisputed starter, Hartman simply provides depth and insurance if berry goes down again. Hartman did see some action last year and had some good tape. This guy has talent

1- Kendrick Lewis

2- Sanders Commings

3- Husain Adbullah

Lewis until proven otherwise is the starter. He was once mentioned by Berry as "the Peyton Manning of the Defense". This guy is good and he has no reason to lose his job. Although he is injury prone, he is a great football player. Commings and Abdullah serve as insurance and depth and Commings sees action as a sub package defender.

K- Ryan Succop

P- Dustin Colquitt

LS- Thomas Gafford
