I'm sitting here thinking about the QB situation. Obviously, Reid and Dorsey are all in when it comes to Smith. IF that comes back to haunt us (and given Smith's injury record it seems like it should at least be in the realm of consideration) then we fall back to a completely unproven NFL QB who played in the spread offense at the University of Missouri. We'll not discuss the success of Mizzou QBs in the NFL right now.
That being the case, which of the other two on the roster do you think will make the cut? Trick Shot or Stanzi? This is a very interesting question because given our history of QB injuries, you just might see the guy taking snaps this year. Couple that propensity for our QBs to get hurt with a stunning new lineup of offensive line players who will wonder till opening day which position they will actually play, and it would seem that the opportunity for an offensive line that looks kinda like a Chinese fire drill is becoming more of a possibility.
The very fact that Trick Shot is known by that moniker should serve as a precaution to anybody who thinks he can play the game. Stanzi is supposedly so bad that he can't even beat out Tyler Palko. Between that and needing a haircut, he's an interesting option for sure.
Maybe we toss out both and go with an emergency QB like Arenas or Fasano? This is just getting interestinger and interestinger.
