I know. It's Eric Fisher, right? Sure it is. It's been said over and over and over. We are trading Branden Albert and picking up a new tackle to take his place. It's all been figured, refigured, salted, packed and stored for the winter. Reid picking a QB at number one is not possible at this point. It just ain't gonna happen. Period. Stop the tape, the show is over.
I don't know guys. I just don't know. Who did Reid pick with his very first draft in Philly? At number 2 he chose Mr. McNabb. He never took another QB in all of his 15 years. Do you really think that he thinks that Smith is the future of this club? Do you think that he thinks that he's the QB Whisperer that he's been touted as being? Do you think that he thinks he made Brett Favre what he is?
I don't know what is going to happen, but I can tell you this. Andy Reid has been given total control over what happens with this team and Jon Dorsey seems to be pretty darn good at keeping information under his hat. Could all this trade stuff and the replacement Tackle along with everything that has led up to this point be only one of several different plans that these guys have in mind?
Could the fact that they can't seem to get what they want for Albert have an effect on what that first choice is going to be in just a few minutes? Will they push it as far as possible trying to get one deal, and then, when that deal doesn't bear fruit, switch gears and go with plan B? Was plan B really the idea all along? I don't know a thing. All I can do is speculate, just like you.
Funny thing is, if you believe that Andy Reid realizes that the reason he went to all those playoff games was largely because of the QB that he chose at number 2 way back in 1999, do you think it possible that he really does see the need to draft a QB with that first pick? KC has never had the number one pick before. What if Geno (or another) really could be that guy for Reid. What if he thinks that, and the Albert trade goes to shit (as of right now we still don't know if it will get done). What do they do?
One thing is certain, this pick is fluid right up until the moment that it is not. It sure sounds like we're getting a new Tackle. What if we don't. What if, everybody that wanted a brand new QB is about to be very happy?
I know. No chance, no way, no how. It just ain't gonna happen...With the first pick in the 2013 Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs pick...
