Eric Fisher will be the Chiefs pick, according to everyone (or something like that)

USA TODAY Sports

It's becoming increasingly clear that the Kansas City Chiefs will select Central Michigan's Eric Fisher with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Let's hope this isn't a "Dewey defeats Truman" situation. A new report from Mike Florio states is plain and clear: the KC Chiefs will select Eric Fisher with the top pick.

There was a report earlier that the Chiefs had informed Luke Joeckel that they were taking Fisher but another report refuted that. I don't know why the Chiefs would tell Joeckel they're taking Fisher. Not that I don't think we'll end up at the same outcome.

There's also this:

Nothing is ever final until it actually happens but this is the vibe nearly everyone has been giving off over the last 24 hours. It started with Mike Mayock mocking Fisher to the Chiefs and then Jay Glazer predicting it would be Fisher. From there, folks like ESPN's Mel Kiper began changing their mock draft picks to reflect Fisher as the No. 1 pick.

The Chiefs CAN still trade the pick. That's possible. But if word is leaking out that the Chiefs will select Fisher then I would guess that means a trade is unlikely. I would also guess that the Chiefs will use all 10 minutes of the clock when they're up, waiting on any last trade offers.

If not, it sure looks like it'll be Fisher with the No. 1 overall pick.
