So much info and so many opinions on this site. I'm exhausted and a bit disgusted by some of it. These are my guys and this is my team. some guys have left and some more may still. I'm sorry to see most of them go. Obviously Cassel wasnt getting the job done but I still wish him the best, he was one of my guys for four (mostly painful) years. "Let's see what kind of trade value we can get from Albert/Hali." Those folks should find a short pier and take a long walk. Those are my guys.
Some guys are coming in with more on the way. I welcome them to the fold. Glad to have you all as Chiefs. "We payed too much for Smith. He's Cassel 2.0." Well, he's my QB now and if he has to be anybody's 2.0 (which he shouldnt, he is his own man) then I hope he's Montana 2.0 (the last of my QB's to win a playoff game and, wow, what a ride!). Whomever we draft with the (maybe) 1st pick will be the guy I've got the most hope for regardless of position.
It doesn't matter to me where you played before (Montana, Marcus Allen, Green, Thomas Jones) or where you played after (Shields, Gonzales, Neil Smith, Carr), you were and always will be my guys.
It's (to me) not about the new regime, the trades, the draft, who's over paid or who's not. Don't get me wrong, these things DO matter, but in the end I have absolutely zero control over any of it. What I can do is show up to the most beautiful stadium ever built, walk through the awe inspiring Hall of Honor, enjoy the best tailgating experience in the free world, take a seat with thousands of NFL's greatest fans, change the words to the Natoinal Anthem, and cheer on one of the best franchises in football, my franchise, my guys, my team. Forever and always, GO CHIEFS!!!
