The Kansas City Chiefs have made it official, announcing Dwayne Bowe has been signed. GM John Dorsey said signing Bowe was a priority for them. Andy Reid and Bowe himself were also quoted in a release.

If you believe KC Chiefs GM John Dorsey, signing Dwayne Bowe was one of his top priorities when he took over the Chiefs. The Chiefs confirmed the new deal for Bowe and in a statement Dorsey called Bowe a "premier" receiver.

"When we first arrived, one of the first items on our agenda was signing Dwayne," Chiefs GM John Dorsey said in a statement. "He's been a key player on our offense and is one of the premier players at his position. We are pleased that Dwayne will be a member of this team for years to come."

How many years? Multiple reports say it's a five-year deal. We've yet to hear any firm numbers attached to that.

"We're excited to have Dwayne on the roster for the long term," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. "Dwayne's a big, physical receiver who has had success in this league. He is part of the Chiefs family, and it was important to him to remain in Kansas City. I'm looking forward to working with Dwayne."

Reid acquired his quarterback in Alex Smith. He had to know he would need Bowe. The Chiefs have nothing but unproven talent behind him.

"I'm very blessed to be a member of the Kansas City Chiefs," said Bowe, who also posted this message on Facebook. "The Hunt family and the fan base have been very supportive over the years, and I am looking forward to working with John and Coach Reid in the near future. I'm excited to continue my career with the Chiefs and hopefully help this team reach our goals."

The goal would be winning in January. That's all I want to see (that and, you know, a Super Bowl or two).
