With the new crown of the helmet rule and all the other dont touch the qb /defensless receiver crap the nfl is failing in my opinion. I played Saftey through high school and was always taught to separate the WR from the Ball. now they want to let them catch it and make a move before you can hit them ..Cmon man???
I understand player safety and i hate it when ever one of my favorite players are hurt due to a cheap shot (stevie johnson). I do not necessarily have a problem with the new rules to protect players, but after watching and listening to countless sports shows none of the players competition committee members or coaches care to mention that the risk of injury is why the guys are grossly OVERPAID in the first place. Go out in whatever town you live in and when you see a Painter on a 40 ft ladder making 15 dollars an hr ask yourself if he is putting his life in danger. see the window washer hanging off the side of a 40 story building for 30k a year, how about all our guys in the military, law enforcement, firefighters, border patrol etc. etc. none of these people make 50k and risk life and limb everyday.
Dont get me wrong i understand how hard these guys work to be a professional athlete and the average career is short lived, just because you make 10 milion a year dont mean you have to spend it all in a year (vince young) Anyway i just had to vent a bit but im curious to see how these new rules play out, and how the Salaries of players continue to increase while the game gets softer and softer but the $15.00 per hour painter has to work a full week while risking his life just to pay for parking and 4 tix to take his family to the game.
