Mock-worthy Draft Guesses for 3/25/13

One Chiefs fan with one opinion on the current scenario at One Arrowhead Dr.

Below is one of those pre-draft guesses equivalent to filling out my bracket for March Madness. Some of the below would be based upon fact, some on gut feel, and mostly on a pure guess should all of the draft stars align and each player fell to the Chiefs in his respective round (aside from #1 overall of course).

Chiefs 2013 Draft Projections on 3/25/13

Assumptions: LT Albert is not traded. No draft pick trades between now and the draft. All Chiefs picks remain as they are on 3/25/13.

Round #/Pick #/Overall #

1/1/1 - OT Eric Fisher Central Michigan - In a surprise move, the Chiefs select Eric Fisher 1st overall. Seems more athletic than Joeckel and could start at RT if Chiefs work out a long-term deal with Albert (wishful thinking based upon the recent trade rumors).

3/1/63 - DT Brandon Williams MO Southern - Only non-QB that the Chiefs have looked at in this pick position. If he's still on the board, Chiefs pick him up.

3/34/96 - LB Zaviar Gooden MU - Athletic linebacker to pair with DJ. This would seem like a steal at #96 overall. Adding a speedy, starting inside linebacker (4.47 40YD) with a big upside is highway robbery at pick #96.

4/2/99 - OPT 1 - C Brian Schwenke Cal - Played OG as well as C. Adds depth to the interior line and potential starting C competition. OPT 2 - SS Shawn Williams GA - Competes for starting role combination with Eric Berry; provides an option for Berry to move to FS.

5/1/134 - OPT 1 - QB Landry Jones OU - Chiefs talked to him at the Senior Bowl and there are worse 3rd string QBs out there. Not endorsing this pick, but could see it happening. OPT 2 - LB Jelani Jenkins FLA - Attended the pro day and were satisfied with Jenkins' as a depth LB and special teamer.

6/2/170 - Best OL/DL available (depth)

6/36/204 - Best RB available (3rd string/special teams)

7/1/207 - Best DB available (special teams)
