I read all of these negative comments and just have to wonder why. As much as we like to compare coaches and players from previous regimes, we know it’s never the same circumstances. They say it’s a copycat league but very seldom does a copycat work out the same for each situation.
So far the thing that I see from this new Chief’s regime is no hesitation and I like it. Clark Hunt wanted Andy Reid, he gets Andy Reid. Hunt and Reid wanted John Dorsey, they get Dorsey. Reid’s staff was assembled before most teams even decided on a head coach. Andy Reid also wanted Alex Smith, he gets Smith. These types of decisive moves, makes me feel really good about the future of the Chiefs. Remember how long it took to hire Pioli then fire Herm Edwards and then hire Todd Haley. That year we were the last team to put a coach and staff in place.
I feel like there is a plan. Who am I to say it won’t work just by comparing it to other coaches and players from what you know had to be different circumstances. This is a very exciting time for me as a Chief’s fan. I can’t wait to read the news or watch NFLN every day because I know there is a good chance they will be talking about the Chiefs. And most of the time it’s very encouraging .
I can’t wait to see how we handle free agency and the draft, because for now I trust this new regime until they prove with wins and losses that they don’t know what they are doing. Go Chiefs!
