And Then There Were 3

And then there were 3. Well that means there is really only 3 draft options if we decide to keep the #1 overall pick. Well who are they you ask. Sharrif Floyd, Star Loutelelei, and of course the obvious one is Luke Joeckel. And maybe just maybe Eric Fisher.

The reason I will start off with Defensive tackles is because the Luke Joeckel choice will all depend on how much Reid and Dorsey like Donald Stephenson who is only 24. With some upside. He is 6'6 and 312 lbs.

Let's start with Sharrif Floyd This guy could be dominant on our D-line. He's big strong and jus physical for offensive linemen to hold off. One example is Florida vs Texas A&M. This was a bad matchup for Luke Joeckel even. It eventually got to a point where if he wasn't double teamed Joeckel was chop blocking him. He's good at stuffing holes and stopping the run. With the secondary we have right now we need people to stop the run and that starts with the D-line to plug holes and make RB's try to bounce to the outside which if worked right LB's and DB's should already be there for a stop in the backfield. He only has 3 sacks. But the attention he requires to contain him is all we could ask for. With our pass rushers Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. Tyson Jackson on the line who also requires a double team. Dontari Poe who is not really a bust at least in my eyes seemed to be getting better during the season. And with Glenn Dorsey gone Pitoitua gone. We have to replace them also.

Now let's talk about Star Loutelelei. This is a baaaaaaad man. Physical big very strong. Tends to stuff the right holes. His knowledge of playing his position is very good.He is 6'3 320 lbs. The only thing holding him back now is his unknown heart condition status. Also him not being able to participate in the combine. I have a feeling if he did participate in it he would be the #1 no questions asked. But sometimes feelings can be wrong. This guy is so disruptive in plays he would be a great addition to any defensive front. He is a play maker you cant call many d-linemen play makers but this guy is. He doesn't just take up space. He gets his hands up when the QB is getting ready to throw. He forces fumbles and is just a matchup problem no matter where you stack him. If everything checksout on this guy don't be shocked to see him go first overall.

Luke Joeckel is a very athletic decently strong guy. He is not the strongest OT in the draft but he makes up for it with his footwork and athleticism. The guy is 6'6 306 lbs. Size wise isn't exactly going to impress anybody. strength is exactly going to impress anybody but what will is his ability to keep his man in front of him. With nothing more i can really say about the kid here's some tape. Honestly the kid doesn't have my vote to be #1 I would rather take Eric Fisher.
