The Chiefs have pulled a "Stunner". (Cough Cough). Now the next are moves are very questionable. Do we resign Bowe and tag Albert. Branden Albert actually wants to be in KC. So why wouldn't we resign one of the top 5 LT's for a reasonable price. If the price is right I definitely think he will be back in KC. Dwayne Bowe wants to be apart of the Andy Reid offense. (West Coast). What receiver in there right minds wouldn't want to be in the Pass heavy receiver screen and deep pass West Coast Offense. My opinion. None of them. Every receiver wants the ball. Since the reports are actually saying that we are in negotiations with Dwayne Bowe. He will be back. I don't want to start over and have rookie mistakes by a new LT. That could possibly cost us games on blitzes. when the games on the line. Branden Albert we could tag him this year if need be. I guarantee he would sign a deal that would be cap friendly. He wants to be here. Why would you not sign a proven LT that wants to be in KC. We could possibly sign 1.9 million a year if we draft Luke Joeckel or Eric Fisher. But their money is guaranteed. Possibly 22.1 mil. We could sign Branden Albert and only guarantee 20.1 mil. (only estimates).
We can trade down to a latter pick and also get our 2nd round pick back. I kind of like this deal. Then what do we draft. If we do in fact resign Albert and Bowe. We have some options. We could draft a pass rusher depending on where we are in the draft like Barkevious Mingo. We could go corner to help out Flowers. Like Dee Milliner Jonathan Banks or Trufant. Or maybe a Safety like Kenny Vacarro or Eric Reid. We could have the two Eric's as our "safety" blankets. Or maybe favorite get another receiver to help out Dwayne Bowe. Tavon Austin or Robert Woods I think would be the best choices. I don't know who might have watched the combine but Woods did his "Thang" at the combine. Great hands Good speed. The thing that sets him apart from the others is his route running. I think we also move Baldwin to TE. He also makes plays while he is coming off the line he is so explosive and has great moves to create separation at the line of scrimmage and he doesn't have to rely on his speed to make plays. There is also not alot of pro receivers as dangerous as him in the open field. I think he would be a very valuable asset to the Chiefs and could be like a Michael Crabtree for the 49ers. Not to great of speed but exceptional hands and the ability to make a play when it is broken up from the beginning.
Just throwing out options. Because we probably will trade down due to the teams who have a necessity at QB. But everything we do in the draft relies on what we do in FA. I personally hope we resign Albert and Bowe even tag one of them. So we don't have to exactly get one in the first round.
