It occurred to me that the Chiefs have a veteran QB who not only has the same career stats as Alex Smith, but also the same contract situation (signed through 2014 for between $8M -$10M per year).

What Andy Reid has cleverly done is set the market for mediocre veteran quarterbacks at a second round pick this year and a conditional next year so he can TRADE MATT CASSEL TO THE JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS!

Why release him when he's worth two draft picks! (Worked for the Niners).

Jacksonville is the natural partner for this trade. Cassel would be a HUGE UPGRADE over Blaine Gabbert (the only part of this email that might be true) and as we all know Geno Smith is not even close to being worthy of a top two pick (watch as the Raiders take him at #3 and he kicks our ass for the next 15 years)

Jacksonville is also the only team that has a second round pick (#33) earlier than the one we dealt so we MOVE UP in the second round!

They are almost certain to be worse than us next year, so OUR CONDITIONAL PICK WILL ALSO BE HIGHER than the one we gave up.

It's so simple. How could I not have seen it sooner?
