(Florida State) – Okay, hear me out. This guy’s draft stock is going to rise fast. He is a pass first QB that is big (6’5 240) and can run (4.6 or less in 40). His strengths: Strong Arm, Quick Release, Mobile, Physically & Mentally Tough (played with a broken leg in 2011 bowl game and 2012 through mother’s cancer issues), Fairly Accurate (68% completion), Intelligent, High Character Team Leader, Winner against top talent (12-2 senior season & Won/MVP 2 bowl games and Senior Bowl MVP), Experienced in Pro-Style Offense. He needs to continue to improve his on his ball placement, pocket awareness, and decision making but has continually improved even during the Senior Bowl under pro coaches. He has a ton of upside and KC gives him Andy Reid’s system and coaching staff (You have seen what he can do to make a QB good). He will also good supporting cast if they take care of in house issues and draft well. We shouldn’t roll the dice on a QB in the first (I would love to trade down a time or two). I would be fine taking Manuel in the 2nd when his stock rises after the combine. He is already turning a few heads. I feel we should trade back into the second to get him if we need to.
Go with the Winner!
Manuel, Stanzi, Tanney, Matt Scott (Arizona mid-late round pick)/BPA in draft with good upside.
This is what I would like to see our QB situation to be next season.
