Who we should draft #1

If the reports are true about the trade for Alex Smith, it looks like we will not be drafting Geno Smith #1 overall. To clarify, this is NOT A POST ABOUT OUR QB. We need to look at who will help us most at #1. Of course, we could trade back, IF we can find a trade partner. And unless someone falls in love with Geno, I don't see that happening.

Our options are:
OT- If we let Albert walk (bad move) we'll need a replacement. Top prospect is Luke Joekel. I don't like this move because it doesn't make us better, only younger.

CB- After losing Carr last season, and struggling all year to find a suitable replacement, we need a strong corner opposite Flowers. Top prospect is Dee Millner. He had a good season and a good combine performance, but he's far from a can't miss. Not totally sold, but it's a good option. I wouldn't call him a #2 CB, because in today's league you need 2 #1 corners.

LB- Since the unfortunate Belcher incident, we'll need an ILB to replace him. Unfortunately, there are no Ray Lewis prospects in this draft. I don't think Teo is a #1 overall guy.

G- Losing Lilja to retirement means we'll be short on the interior line. Top prospect- Chance Warmack. Everyone is saying he is the best thing since sliced bread, but you just don't draft a Guard #1 overall.

DL- We're probably losing both Dorsey and Jackson, so we may need another top DL this year. Outside of Star, there may not be anyone worth taking very high. And Star has a heart condition, so....

QB- we could still take our QBOTF in Smith, Barkley, Wilson, etc. I just don't see them using the #1 pick on a guy that probably won't see the field the next few years.

WR- If we can't keep Bowe, we may look at a WR, but I don't see anyone worth #1. There are better replacement options in FA.

GM- can we draft a better GM with our first pick? If so, I'd be all for it. I think we gave up the farm for Smith, and got hoodwinked. I guess only time will tell.
