Who is Alex Smith? Alex is a Winner, He is perfect for Andy's System and is 100% better than Mr.Cassel. Smith played a huge role in getting SanFran to the super bowl. He practically did it in 2011. The true 49er fans will always appreciate Alex Smith and his committment and professionalism. Harbaugh came in and proved that coaching was the problem for all those years and that the problem wasn't Smith. I wonder how good Smith could have been if he had Harbaugh, the best offensive line in football, and a great defense way back in 2005. A a 49er fan, I will always have respect for how he stuck with it. I can't think of another player who was set up to fail by his own franchise more than Smith.
