Chris Canty was cut from the New York Giants on February 6. Since then he's visited the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs. No word on where he stands with the Chiefs but there is word that Canty has two more free agent visits set up for after the NFL Combine.
John Dorsey may already be fighting for free agents with his former team. Chris Canty, the former New York Giant, will soon visit the Green Bay Packers, according to a report from Mike Garafolo of USA Today.
Free agent DL Chris Canty is lining up visits w/ Packers and Jags for after the combine.— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) February 22, 2013
Those visits for Canty aren't set in stone just yet. Teams busy with the combine obviously.— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) February 22, 2013
I wonder where Canty stands with the Chiefs. Did the Chiefs visit with him and now they're just not interested in him? Did they make a contract offer and he's considering it? They're negotiating? I have no idea.
The reason I like Canty is as much about need as it istalent. As we just noted, the Chiefs could be heading into free agency and the 2013 NFL Draft looking for two new defensive ends. Canty could be one of those.
Are you still interested in Canty?
