Now that we basically have some confirmation that Nick Foles is staying in Philly with Chip Kelly. Chip Kelly was asked today about what he plans on doing with Nick Foles and he said he wants to keep him. And that he wants to coach him. In so few words.
Also 49ers GM has told Chris Mortensen that they are "Highly, Highly, Highly unlikely to release him". Now that doesn't necessarily mean that they won't trade him. Who do we have to trade for Alex Smith though. Dwayne Bowe or Brandon Albert. First we have to resign them though. Or maybe Eric Berry or Derrick Johnson. That won't happen either. So all the hope that we might get him has dropped to possibly 3%.
Let's not forget about Matt Flynn. Pete Carroll has said he wants to keep him. They have no intentions of releasing him. Also the Seahawks GM has also said that Matt FLynn is a key part to there offense. He says he is a primary model to their offense. And again who would we trade to get him?
Sorry to be a poor sport everybody but it looks like today we will be having a Rookie quarterback starting next year. The truth is I'm honestly excited about that. I trust Andy Reid. I think we all need to have faith in him. He is at the combine to look at Geno Smith and Tyler Wilson I would think primarily. I also think he will be the first one in the door March 27th to see Matt Barkley's pro day. Last year for success he was successful with Nick Foles. The closest skill set to his with possibly a higher ceiling due to his natural feel of the pocket and mental toughness is Matt Barkley. I'm sorry Geno lovers but for more success I think we have to go with Matt Barkley.
