Jeff Curry-US PRESSWIRE
Not only did the Kansas City Chiefs cut Steve Breaston on Tuesday but they also released tight end Kevin Boss, who ended the 2012 season on injured reserve after suffering a Week 2 concussion.
I was feeling good things about Kevin Boss if he planned to return to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013. Andy Reid's offense utilizes tight ends and I thought Boss might have a chance to become productive in Reid's offense.

But then I was all wrong. The Chiefs cut Boss on Tuesday, ending his one-year stint with the team. He played in just two games and was knocked out for the season with a concussion in Week 2. He does have a history of concussions, which was the concern at the time.
Boss was due $2.4 million in 2013 after signing a three-year, $9 million contract with the Chiefs in March 2012.
The Chiefs tight end position has plenty of question marks moving forward. Tony Moeaki will return but after him it's a list of unproven guys like Steve Maneri (who actually showed some flashes here and there last year).
As noted earlier, Reid has a history of productive tight ends. This wil be an important position to monitor moving foward.
