OK, so I was sitting here pondering how the Redskins were very aggressive in getting the players they wanted, and it got me wondering...
What if the Chiefs were really aggressive this year?
I've given this some thought and this is how I could see it playing out
FREE AGENCY:
the Franchise Tag goes to Branden Albert
Dwayne Bowe WR
Sign him
Sign him
That is it for in-house guys, lets move on to the others
Keenan Lewis CB
Solid coverage corner, only allowed 52.7% completion, Fills a need, Sign him
Played very well for Giants as a blocker and pass catcher, Sign him
Rob Turner C/OG
Quality depth behind Allen, Hudson, and Asamoah, Sign him
NFL DRAFT:
ROUND 1:
"What's wrong with the Chiefs?"
"Their quarterback"
"So who should they draft?"
"Luke Joekel"
"What about Branden Albert?"
"Luke Joekel"
It just doesn't make sense, be aggressive, take the risk, Draft him
TRADE ALERT! (aggressive trade alert)
Chiefs trade their 1st round 2014 3rd round 2014 and 3rd round 2013 to the Miami Dolphins for 1st round (12th overall) and draft
Kenny Vaccaro S: Best Safety in the Draft, our secondary needs help, Draft him
Round 2:
DeAndre Hopkins WR: Incredible hands, Great route runner, deep threat, Draft him
Round 3 (compensatory):
Sylvester Williams DE: able to generate interior pass rush, draft him
Round 4:
Nico Johnson: Great instincts, presence in the middle, we need another Johnson, Draft him
And I really don't care what happens after this, because if all this were to happen, I believe it would put the Chiefs where we all want them to be.
SUPER BOWL HERE WE COME!
