I first want to say that I hope Geno Smith is the pick at #1 in the upcoming 2013 NFL draft. However, I trust Andy Reids wisdom when it comes to signal callers, he has the proven track record. If KC goes the free agency/trade route, Josh Freeman would be my choice. Freeman is 25 years old, and is entering the last year of his rookie deal. While Freeman has had his ups and downs, I think he would be our best option. Freeman has played for Raheem Morris (former DB coach) and G Schiano (one year in the pro's), not exactly offensive minded guys. Under Reid, Freeman could very well flourish. Freeman is big, 6'6 240 pounds, and has excellent arm strength, and mobility, similiar traits of D. McNabb. Freeman threw for over 4,000 yards and 27 TD's last year. The Bucs GM and coach have indicated that they do not intend to re-sign Freeman, and plan to bring in competition via draft or free agency. I think KC should make a play for Freeman. Offering a 2nd or 3rd round pick might do the trick. Perhaps Schiano (Former Big East coach at Rutgers) likes Geno and is willing to wheel and deal to move up in to a position to draft him. If KC were to trade a 2nd round pick for Freeman, they could then use the #1 pick on Joeckel. We could then let Albert walk and resign Bowe. Perhaps we could then trade our two 3rd round picks to get that 2nd round pick back and then draft a corner like Trufant or Poyer, and still land Reddick or N Johnson at MLB in the 4th. By trading for Freeman, KC would have much more flexibility to re sign our free agents and address team needs through the draft.
