“It’s the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine.” C’mon, you guys! Did’ya really think we’d win 14 or 15 games, and win the AFC West? This isn’t a fairy tale. We were a 2-14 team last year!
Let’s take an honest look at the Chiefs. Dorsey/Reid have certainly changed the mind-set of the team (and the fan base). We expect to win. That’s a good thing. However, reality does bite. Reid inherited some significant defensive talent, and Sutton molded an aggressive, attacking D. We’re not quite there, yet, however. Another DE or ILB should be on the wish list (a DE especially). On Offense, the past two games have convinced me that Smith can indeed be an effective QB for us. Just give him a faster TE (Kelce?) and a FAST WR who can CATCH THE BALL! Smith has shown me a glimpse of a vertical passing game. I’m off his case for the time being (unless Derek Carr falls to us).
So I guess you all are thinking I’m throwing in the towel on this season, right? You’d be essentially WRONG! I see a couple more regular season wins, and a good shot at a play-off win (if Houston’s healthy). I just don’t see us in the SB this year.. Be patient. I think our time will come.
