I hope you like the underdog role because that's who the Kansas City Chiefs are this week as a 4.5-point 'dog to the Denver Broncos. The line opened at three points and has since moved to 4.5, according to the Week 13 NFL odds.
This is a decent-sized line when you take into account that the game is at Arrowhead and the Chiefs are 9-2. It's rare to see a game like this result in a 4.5-point line for the home team but the Broncos are a unique team this year. The oddsmakers clearly prefer Peyton Manning and the Broncos offense.
It's hard to fault them because the Broncos won by 10 points in Denver just two weeks ago. Sure, KC had some mistakes but the Broncos probably feel they did, too. 4.5 points seems about right considering the line for the first Chiefs-Broncos game (in Denver) was eight points.
The Chiefs will have to defend Manning and Co. likely without the services of Justin Houston, who is reportedly expected to sit this game. The Chiefs are hoping Tamba Hali, who is also injured, can play. Read all of our coverage on their injuries here.
