Like a handful of you, I joined the Chiefs express before the beginning of the season as a result of the Alex Smith trade to the team. As a hardcore Alex Smith fan, before the beginning of last years season, I made a bet with my cousin who is a rabid Peyton Manning fan. I was convinced Alex Smith would end the year with a higher passer rating then Peyton would. My reasoning was that Alex was coming off a great year having won the divisional championship game and that Manning was going to slow down a bit for a variety of factors not the least of which was because of his neck surgery. What were the stakes? The loser would purchase the official NFL jersey of the winner's QB, take a picture in it and then post it on their Facebook profile for a whole month. The jersey would then be given to the winning side. As the season rolled on, Alex was on a tear. His passer rating was higher than Peyton's for most of the season. Then it happened...you know...the fateful day when Alex was injured never to return again on the field as a Niner. His passer rating froze at 104.1 and Manning overtook Smith finishing just above Smith with a 105.8. I went out and bought the jersey, gathered my disheveled kids around and took the picture(see it here)which I proudly posted to my Facebook account for a month. The jersey was boxed up and shipped out as promised. I am confident revenge will be mine on Sunday.
