The story of Wednesday's injury report is the absence of Peyton Manning. The Denver Broncos QB did not practice on Wednesday but does plan to return to practice later this week. Manning re-injured an ankle injury last week but there was never any real concern that he wouldn't be out there. Manning will play.
Here's the Chiefs injury report:
Limited practice: DE Mike Catapano (ankle), WR Dexter McCluster (ankle)
The DMC injury is interesting. Is this related to the Chiefs claiming WR Kyle Williams off waivers? Fooch over at Niners Nation told me that Williams would work best in the slot, which is where DMC plays. I hope DMC is OK. He's put in some big performances this season so the Chiefs will need him on Sunday against Denver. We'll see what he's able to do on Thursday. DMC plays in the slot and returns punts, so that's what the Chiefs would need to replace if he can't go.
Catapano has a high ankle sprain. Those usually take a few weeks but he could be available on Sunday.
Full practice: WR Donnie Avery (shoulder), TE Anthony Fasano (ankle, knee), TE Sean McGrath (knee), LB Dezman Moses (toe), RB Anthony Sherman (knee, calf)
No concerns here. These guys will all be available to play. Avery and Fasano are dealing with previous injuries. Same with Sherman.
Here's the Broncos injury report:
Did not practice: DE Robert Ayers (not injury related), TE Joel Dreessen (knee), LB Nate Irving (shoulder), QB Peyton Manning (ankle)
Limited practice: CB Champ Bailey (foot), S Duke Ihenacho (ankle), WR Wes Welker (ankle)
