So, while it may only interest a few of us here on Arrowhead Pride, I can't let the week go by without some pictures of the fun times had during the Texans-Chiefs game here at Denver's own Blake St Tavern. Great sports bar with 50 bazillion widescreen TV's all over the place, many of which were tuned to the Chiefs game, yet again. I can only imagine the delicious madness come Nov 17th when the Chiefs tangle with the Broncos. In the meantime, let's catch up on a few people, shall we?
First off, I'd be completely remiss in my duties if I didn't give some props to two of the area's best servers, Jacqueline and Deanna. That's Deanna on the right. Talk about being well taken care of ... these two are the bestest! (And pay no attention to the Broncos shirts, they only wear them for the tips)
My biggest thrill ... aside from the final score ... was finally meeting EastCoastTransplant. Aplogies for the blurry picture, but as John Belushi would say: "It ain't my fault!" Seriously. He moved. So here's our buddy ... our GANSTA buddy (he said it, not me)
There was a great couple with the gentleman sporting a Super Bowl (69) jersey, and the "name tag" on the back did indeed say Super Bowl. NICE! And, in the FWIW Department, his lovely companion came over later to get some information on ... of all places ... Arrowhead Pride. Something tells me we might soon have a new blogger or two around here, and the more the merrier!
Talk about a happy couple! Think these two were enjoying the game? Oh yeah! Koolaid? Don't need it. We've got TEAM, baby!
Amazingly enough, there CAN be peaceful coexistence between Chiefs fans and Broncos fans. Beer helps. A lot.
Yours truly got a visit from a very sweet young lady named Amanda. For whatever reason, she thought I was the lovechild of Santa Claus and Jerry Garcia, and came over to sit on Santa's lap with her X-Mas list. This really happened. I have a witness. And, I still have The List.
I'm working on it, Amanda, really I am! Especially the Unicorn. Seriously, I couldn't make this up if I tried.
On the way out we met still more Chiefs fans. Seriously, we need to make this place a Sea Of Red for every game.
So, where were we? We were here. Blake St Tavern. Yup, free publicity! The kicker is that Chiefs fans can actually get "sponsored" here and have or own room, with servers wearing (you guess it!) Chiefs shirts. My new friend Shelby told me all about it, and how cool is that!
So, without further ado ... a tip of the helmet to Shelby (below) ... props to Blake St Tavern for being such a cool place, and of course ... GEAUX CHIEFS!
Hope to see ya there!
