Attempted Censorship Within the Chiefs' AP Community

This is my first FanPost. Sadly, it isn't about the Chiefs; it is about something much more important! I have seen several disturbing comments lately that seem to ignore rules of etiquette, respect, and the nature of blogging on AP. There are people who are brilliant writers and everything they say is beautifully phrased and easy to read and readily understood by everyone. There are people who have great vision and creativity who come up with amazing story lines and subject matter that delight and engage everyone. There are people who agonize over statistics and game tape and compile and arrange it in fantastic ways that bring everybody closer into the details of the game. There are people who inject humor and fun into everything they do who help bring everybody together with laughter. There are people who play the devil's advocate and question motives and logic who help everyone find deeper truth and meaning. There are people who have something to say, who, in this blogger forum, can inspire others to give their ideas, thoughts, feelings, hopes, and fears a voice of self expression. There are also people who just want to have control over everything in in what they believe is THEIR world. My point is there are all kinds of people coming to this site, spouting off, railing, inspiring, loving, fighting, and homering because of our love for the Chiefs; We are a community! We can do this because we live in a nation founded upon the idea that free expression is the most basic aspect, right, and need of human beings. So it is very sad for me to remind any American that trying to shut someone, anyone down, just because we don't like the content of their message, is nothing more than censorship. Using insults and shame to get people to adhere to an arbitrary list of acceptable topics, is nothing more than bullying... I don't care how long you have been a member of Arrowhead Pride, because you long-timers especially, should know better! There are rules in place regarding procedure and etiquette. Some say this and that about the rules for FanPosts. Here are some real rules. Thank you for your attention and for being part of this great community! I have the link for all the rules at the bottom. Hmmm, I can't break it into paragraphs...lol "The main requirement we have is no insults of any kind. Choose to ignore someone rather than insult them. If you think something may be an insult before you post it, don't do it." "So you've made a few comments, now you're ready to do your first FanPost. Here are a few tips. Make the topic interesting. Put some thought into what you're writing. We have a character minimum (300 I think) which means that you can't just throw out one line (unless it's really long). You'll be rewarded with a good stream of comments if you make the effort to proofread and fill it with good info." You can find the complete rules at: http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2009/3/6/782702/welcome-new-readers

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.
