Chiefs Defense Nickname: OCTOBER MADNESS Game 1

So, today the madness begins. I have made the bracket based off of the poll from yesterday, and I ended up with 32 "teams". Here is a link so you can see the bracket: OCTOBER MADNESS (you'll have to drag over to see all of the teams). We will now look at our first matchup: (1) Sutton Death vs. (8) Red Light District.

Sutton Death

I think Sutton Death is the heavy favorite in this matchup, as any 1 seed should be. This is a very popular team with a ton of good things going for it. For one, it incorporates the use of the Chiefs' Defensive Coordinator, Bob Sutton, in a very clever way, and I have to say that it fits in with their gameplan quite nicely. They do consistently and successfully execute the end goal of that strategy, which is to sound like "Sudden Death" when verbalized. This consistency is really what this team is built on. Not only are they consistent with their gameplan, but on a bigger scale, their coach, MrAustin.Sr, has been with this team since their inception. Now some things that could cause this team to get upset are, and I have to be nittpicky with such a well-built team, but the fact that not many outside of Chiefs fans will understand them! I mean, if Steel Curtain had employed this strategy, I'm not completely sure they would be such a universally known team. Now, let's move on to the analysis of the underdog, "The Red Light District".

The Red Light District

While not likely, I could see an upset in the making here. This team does have a few things going for it, such as the fact that it incorporates a place in KC that every resident knows of, the Power & Light District. Red-light district is also defined as "a part of an urban area where there is a concentration of prostitution and sex-oriented businesses, such as sex shops, strip clubs, adult theaters, etc.", so this team appears to use the strategy of distracting the other team. However, they may get beat by their own strategy after Sutton Death and co. are quite possibly relaxed by The Red Light District's strategy, rather than distracted by it. Personally, I don't see them pulling this one out.

The Verdict

Well, game time has rolled around and it looks like it's time for the tipoff. Let the games begin!
