In the Bay Area where this bandwaggoner (two g’s right?) lives, we will get KC-Oakland followed by SF-Arizona, a sweet treat for all the recent coverts to KC. It looks like KC is collecting two waves of bandwaggoners: 1) the Alex Smith Nation who are an odd, but devoted, group who just want to see how the story ends and 2) people who just glom on to a winner for whatever reason. If you’ve read any of my posts, you know I’m in the first wave.
Watching KC best Oakland will be an appetizer that might make the whole meal. Honestly, I don’t even hate the Raiders anymore (but I get why AP does). They’ve been so dysfunctional of late with a comical tendency towards self-inflicted wounds, that they seem more sympathetic than fearsome. Their tendency toward thuggery seems to have diminished (almost in direct proportion to the increase in my own formerly beloved Niners). Maybe there is a conservation of thuggery principle I was unaware of.
Kansas City appears to be strong in character and character(s) like Charles and McGrath that I’ve completely enjoyed learning about and watching. AP is great, just the right balance of delusional homerism, glass half empty pessimism, and hilarious panic posts. I would insert a sky is falling gif here, but I think we’re just about giffed-out this week. AP has nice interactions with the enemy as well, sharp but not boorish It’s much more fun to be a part of the "us vs. them" and "we get no media respect", etc. than the overhyped expanding bubble that is threatening to explode in a sticky pink mess.
As someone said early in the season welcoming the first wave of immigrants to Arrowhead’s shores, "Come for the Alex, stay for the Jamaal". Thanks, I think I will!
P.S. I think you probably got flim-flammed on the AJ Jenkins deal; but you got Marcus Cooper. Your welcome!
