What has 14 legs and on occasion does what it is supposed to do?
It appears that many others have came to the same conclusion.
23. Kansas City Chiefs: -8.2
Stud: He’s not put forth a massive claim to a big contract at the end of the year with six penalties, but Branden Albert (+4.9) is holding up in pass protection.
Summary: Perhaps the one area where the team could really stand to improve. The problem spot is at right tackle where they seem damned with whatever they do, but the run blocking really hasn’t delivered as they would have hoped.
The Kansas City Chiefs Pass blocking is allowing on average; two Sacks, two QB hits, and 10 QB hurries per game in 2013. The Chiefs are averaging 47 yards per game between the Tackles rushing. The Chiefs are picking up 67 yards per game outside on average behind the tackles and to the outside or on QB scrambles.
Dissecting that a bit more. The Chiefs are averaging 22 yards per game with Alex Smith's legs and only 5 yards per game behind the Right Tackle position. The Left Tackle Branden Albert has 20 yards per game rushing through his side of the Offensive line.
5-0 is powerful juju though and Eric Fisher will get better with more playing time and being a little more healthy.
Alex Smith when not pressured (151 plays) has a completion rate of 63.9%. When Pressured (71 plays) he has a completion rate of 44% with 13 sacks.
Why is the Offense struggling so?
