Chiefs 2012 Defensive MVP

After identifying the weaknesses and strengths of the 2012 Kansas City Chiefs defense, it is now time to decide who we as Chiefs fans think is the team MVP. It was clear that the linebackers were the obvious favorites, sending 3 of the starting 4 linebackers to the Pro Bowl (Justin Houston, Tamba Hali, Derrick Johnson). Brandon Siler took over for Javon Belcher midseason, and also had a productive year.

MLB Derrick Johnson led the team by far with 125 total tackles, 2 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 4 pass deflections and 4 forced fumbles. He had another outstanding year all around and deserved his Pro Bowl nod.

OLB Justin Houston put up a team leading 10 sacks in 2012, while also managing 66 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 5 pass deflections, 1 INT and 1 forced fumble. In his second year, he is turning out to be a stud and put up awesome numbers.

OLB Tamba Hali finished just behind Houston with 9 sacks in 2012, with 51 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 pass deflections and 1 forced fumble. Outside of the solid sack numbers Hali didn't have quite the year that Johnson & Houston saw.

What do you think Chiefs fans? Which player deserves to be the 2012 Defensive MVP?
