Revis, Tyler Wilson, and AFC West Championship

First off I would like to say this is my first time writing on Arrowhead Pride. This is my reasoning and thoughts behind why the Chiefs should draft Tyler Wilson and trade for Darrelle Revis. I will start with trading for Revis since it will impact the Chiefs decision to draft Wilson.

Everybody and their mothers know how good a healthy Revis can be. Also in the past few years we have all seen the talent that we have in house with Brandon Flowers. Pairing them together with Eric Berry two years removed from ACL surgery will be much improved secondary. Also, looking at Bob Sutton we are going to look to blitz a ton and that will put even more of an emphasis on shutdown corners. Obviously we know that Revis will not come cheap so this is my proposed trade.

Revis and the Jets 1st round pick for the Chiefs 1st, 2nd, and 6th round pick. I think considering the fact we only have three current cornerbacks on the roster we will need to spend a relatively high draft pick on a corner regardless. A second rounder may be a lot to give up but if you look at it this way (Revis coming off ACL surgery or an unproven 2nd round corner). I look at that and see Revis as the best option. Pairing a top notch corner with Flowers shows us how good a defense we can have (ie. Carr, thanks Pioli). Since we currently do not have that option I really do think that Revis should be strongly considered. Now to Wilson.

After acquiring Revis the Chiefs would now hold the #9 overall pick. This should be enough to land our guy Tyler Wilson. With many projecting Geno Smith as the top QB in the draft Tyler Wilson is considered to be right up there with Barkley, Nassib, and Glennon for the 2nd best. As we all saw we do need a QB for this team to be successful and it would be a waste of time and money to try for a fill in (Alex Smith, Jason Cambell, Matt Moore). So although the draft does not have anyone who is "supposedly" a shoe in star (Luck, RG3) it could still hold a good starting QB. Tyler Wilson did not play in exactly a great situation last season and was still able to produce a solid year stat wise.

Now that we have Andy Reid, we should take the shot to give him his Donovan McNabb and that guy should be Tyler Wilson.

As I noted this is my first time writing and would love some feedback from the other bloggers and fans around here. As always Let's Go Chiefs!!!
