Pro Bowl 2013: Raiders' Shane Lechler voted for Chiefs' Dustin Colquitt

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The KC Star is giving some attention to one of the Kansas City Chiefs best players -- punter Dustin Colquitt, who talked about his bid to Hawaii to play in the Pro Bowl.

Of the Chiefs six Pro Bowl players, four of them have been here before while two of them, Colquitt and Justin Houston, were selected for the first time.

I really want to see the complete voting results with who voted for who because I found this line interesting in Adam Teicher's report in the KC Star on Friday:

"I got a lot of texts from people that said, ‘Well deserved' or, "Long overdue' or things like that," Colquitt said. "I got a text from Shane Lechler that said, ‘I voted for you because you deserved it.' That goes a long way to me."

Is the bond between two punters stronger than the disgust between a Chief and a Raider? It just might be.

The real meat of Teicher's story comes when he asks Colquitt, who is a free agent in March, about coming back next year. There's no definitive answer but the way the report is phrased it seems that there's a better chance of Colquitt coming back now that John Dorsey and Andy Reid are in town.
