Muir has a few connections to the Chiefs new coaching staff and front office.
He was cut by the New York Jets midseason, which means he knows Bob Sutton, the Chiefs new defensive coordinator.
Before that, he was with the Green Bay Packers, which is John Dorsey's (former) territory. Muir came into the league in 2007 as an undrafted free agent with the Packers.
He was with the Colts the longest, almost three seasons and starting 24 games in a two-year stretch.
