fans. We are mostly adults here, I think. I am a little under the influence right now. I may not get another chance to post this (before the first game) if I don’t do it right now. So I hope this post comes out right.
My Fellow Chiefs fans, you should be proud to wear Red and Yellow. We have the awesome privilege of getting to witness something great. We get to watch the development of one of the next great teams in the NFL. Scott Pioli has learned how to get ahead of the curve, and was very lucky when inheriting Tom Brady
from the 6th round. Or did he? Funny how the next straight (get it? Ahead of the curve….that would be a straight wouldn’t it?) Anyways the next straight was going back to the run game. Everyone is building defenses to stop 3 and 4 WR sets. During cuts I guarantee you 5+ cut a LB instead of a CB just because of positional value. CB depth is at a premium. Look what Dallas did. 50 MIL on Brandon Carr
? I loved Carr, but not 10 MIL a year loved. Then, they spent the 6TH overall pick on the best CB in the draft. Now, I know it was a weakness too, but that’s a lot to put into the CB position.
Well, as this is happening Pioli is building a run first offense, with run blocking Olinemen, and he “just so happened” to inherit one of the best backs in the league, that few people had ever heard of. You may think they did, but I used to be and “diehard fan” but you aren’t informed (no Chief fan I know outside AP knows diddly about the Chiefs) until you discover AP. Most of the people I knew had no idea who he was until he burst onto the 2009 season. Funny, how Pioli again ends up with EXACTLY what he needed to, AGAIN, be “ahead of the curve” The post has taken a dramatic shift from my original topic.
Chiefs fan be proud, you are one of if not THE greatest fan bases ANYWHERE! Most Chiefs fans are dedicated, loyal, and honest about this team. Some of us may have that “homerism” but we’re all usually as honest as we can be. It makes for good debates. Guys…..I AM EXCITED!!!!! I’m as hyped up and ready as I have EVER BEEN!!!!! And it’s not even close. This Sunday is going to be AWESOME! The run game is going to be sick! I see 250+ total yards combined for JUST Charles and Hillis. I’m telling you, it will be a spectacle. I have really high expectations for this team. I see a 12-4, 2nd seed, winning a playoff game, which would put us in the AFC Championship. This offense could be top 5!! I see Cassel being in the bottom of the TOP TEIR OF QBS!!! I mean he’s not as good as Rodgers, Brady, Brees, and Eli, but after that he’s in the conversation. SERIOUSLY!!!!! Tell me that wouldn’t be AWESOME!!!! Pair that with the best run game anyone has ever seen?!?!?!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! How is that FAIR to the other teams?!? Would a stat line like this be good with you 312/485 3500 yards 22 TDs and 10 Ints I think these will be Cassel’s stats (roughly of course) for the year of 2012. I came up with those numbers based on his preseason stats (+ roughly 300 yards (I believe they will attack downfield a good deal more in the regular season) and the rough average of atts per year…………… Bottom line, just look for the Chiefs to be really awesome on offense…..
as for defense…….
