So this is my first post on Arrowhead Pride but I have been coming here for about 3 years now. I am currently 22 and have been an avid Chiefs fan since I could speak. My first game was when I was 7 or 8 and it was versus the Detroit Lions. Little did I know what legends were on the field at the game ie Sanders & #58 DT. Anyways, Tony G. was the big marquee player that I grew up with, that the Chiefs had. I know we had a lot of great players when good ole Dick was coaching the team but Tony G. seemed to ascend even that team. He is and will be for the foreseeable future the greatest TE and one of the greatest pass catchers of all time. The coolest part of all.....was/is our legend.
I know he left for greener pastures and frankly I cannot blame him and he has had some decent success in ATL and I am sure they have ok fans but nothing can compare to the love he had from the fans here in KC. He played so damn hard for us week in and week out and succeeded when we were mediocre at best in his later years. I will be at the game on Sunday and although he will be wearing a different uniform , I know I am going to stand up and clap for him just as a way to say THANK YOU Tony. As you step foot onto the field at Arrowhead for most likely the last time, I want you to know that I am grateful that you were, and to me, always will be a Chief.
I just had to throw that out there, I am asking for anyone else to do the same but I wanted to see if anyone else felt the same kind of respect. Like I said, this is my first post so apologize for any missed errors! Glad to finally be apart of Arrowhead Pride and now and always GO CHIEFS!!!
