Football is a brutal sport. Just not for the players, but for the GMs, coaches and oh yes us as fans. Four short weeks ago we were dreamers. Now we dream of something else. Maybe our biggest dream is the day we see Matt Cassel no longer on the roster. Our issues go deeper than that though. All four games this year we have been beat early and beat badly. This suggest the coaches are getting out game planned. I'm not going to sit here and tell you guys what you already know, but I will tell you what I think we should do next year.

Pioli needs to go. He hasn't drafted particularly well. He hasn't hired good coaches. He doesn't bring in big free agents or maybe can't get them. I know at the time this was brought up to death, but remember Peyton Manning didn't even want to meet with this team. You think that was because Denver had a crazy talented team? No, it’s because Pioli is a dictator and big time players don't want to be told to pick up the wrapper in the stair well. I've said this before but if you are going to be unconventional you better be right. There is a fine line between thinking outside the box and being crazy. Well it's not working so maybe he is just crazy.

Sorry Romeo you have to go too. Like I said at the top, we are getting beat early every game so far and that tells me that you just aren't ready for the other team's first punch. 3 of the 4 opening drives this year have gone for a TD. Not just scored, but have given up a touchdown. I love Romeo as a defensive coordinator. I rank him right there with Wade Phillips as a guy who is great at what he does, but not as a head coach. I have a solution for head coach, possibly. If the Eagles don’t make the playoffs this year, Andy Reid won’t be coaching there. I think Reid is a great coach who had been solid year in and year out. What I think he does better than anything is develop a QB. Think about it, Donavan McNabb was there for nearly a decade, then Kevin Kolb somehow earned them a king’s ransom and then brings in Michael Vick, who was more or less left to be what Tim Tebow is to the Jets and gives himself a solid QB. Now Vick isn't doing great this year, but he is getting more out of Vick now then Atlanta ever did.

Matt Cassel can’t stay as QB. He just can’t and as long as Pioli is here, he will always give him a shot. Just like Dayton Moore with the Royals will give Jeff Francoeur start after start even though he is statistically the worst player in baseball. This is the perfect time to draft a QB.

Tank this year or just keep doing what we are doing, get a big time QB with a new GM, a new head coach and use the talent already here to build this team. A new GM and new coach will be able to draft a QB to get behind and start the franchise with that. Just like Atlanta did with Matt Ryan, they had talent on the team, but then drafting a QB is what defines you as a GM and a coach.
