PLAYING THE LOTTERY That is going to be me at noon today. I know that through two weeks this team has given absolutely no reason to think they can go on the road to NO and get a win. Kinda like buying a lottery ticket. You see the jackpot creep up to something like $100 million and you figure "I'll drop a dollar on that." Then you don't really think much about it until the drawing. However, once the drawing starts your excitement spikes and you start to believe you have a chance. You start to root for something that is a complete long shot, but for the moment, you are completely vested. As the balls start to drop, if they are YOUR numbers your excitement builds. If they aren't your numbers, then reality sets in. After all, you didn't really have a chance anyway. That's what everyone was telling you before it started. That will be me watching our Chiefs today. I know what everyone in the media (and a large majority of this site's contributors/commenters) says. Heck, I know what the team's play through 2 weeks says. But at kickoff I will still be rooting knowing there is a chance. I root this way because I was at the Green Bay game in person last year. I watched as this team dug out of their 0-3 start last year. I know this team is capable of doing what most would say is not possible. So join me in buying a lottery ticket for today. This season is still young. And this team is still capable of making a run at the division. As Lloyd Christmas once said: "So you're telling me there's a chance!"
