I think I speak for all Chiefs fans when I say," Wake up Chiefs." This season is off to an ominous start and I , for one, am sick of it already. This week I want to send a personal challenge to all of the Chiefs players and coaches. My challenge is to play hard, play smart, and play to win.
There is no way that Romeo, Scot Pioli, or any of the players can say that the last two weeks were all of these things. Play with some urgency and sense to win. Play without turnovers. Play defense. Play Special Teams. Make helmets fly off and most importantly bring back to intensity and swagger. These chiefs look like a group of school boys sulking after getting bullied. I referee high school football and I have seen JV teams play with more intelligence and intensity. You're 0-2 fellas. This is inexcusable and just plain pathetic.
Pick yourself up off the ground and find out what winning feels like. If not for yourselves, do it for your fans. do it for the people that wait a year to go see your games. The people that pay for the Sunday ticket to watch you and cheer you on. Play hard for your jobs. If this continues, many of these players and coaches will be out on their rear ends. A 1-2 team, after this week, deserves a solid fan base for a week 4 match-up with San Diego. An 0-3 team deserves an empty stadium without a loyal fan base. Without a win, I say we all root against this team for showing no heart, no style, and no urgency. I am not trying to be a turncoat, but fans need to light a fire. We are responsible for paying their salaries and as their boss, I demand a stronger work performance. I would get fired from my job for performance like this. It's time for tough love Chiefs fans. Stand up and support my challenge.
Chiefs personnel should embrace it and ignite that fire. What happened to "Chiefs Will?" All I can say is, they'd better or else it's going to be a cold reception a week from Sunday at Arrowhead. there should be no if they loose. It should be when we win.
