Puttin Lipstick on the Pig: 4 Ways to Win This Weekend

Lets put some lipstick on this pig and get a win on Sunday. Here are 4 things I think the Chiefs can do immediately to produce a win.

1. Get the running game going. This may sound counterproductive but the best way to get this running game going again is to STOP RUNNING ON FIRST DOWN! First down is a passing down, passing sets up the run, the Chiefs ran the ball on first down 8 times in a row last weekend. My son is 7 years old and he knows from playing Madden that doesn't work. Romeo/DaBoll should know that too.

2. Rediscover the screen game. Charles is not 100% and may never be the guy he was, let's help him create some separation by utilizing the screen game. The screen game slows the pass rush down and gives Cassel some easy completions. Hillis is also good in the screen game.

3. Dump man to man for zone blitz! Romeo runs a hybrid man to man cover 2 scheme, its a bend don't break style and it is not working. The Patriots haven't had this style work in about 10 years for a reason, the NFL has passed by the bend don't break defense. Scrap this thing and run the 5-2 like Pittsburgh. Line Houston and Hali up, isolate the weak spots on the opposing o-line and attack. Its not rocket science. Dick LaBeau and Dom Capers have made careers out of this style of defense. At the very least it will be more exciting to watch and should produce more turnovers and sacks.

4. Call plays that Bowe and Cassel like to connect on. Why is Baldwin behind Breaston? McCluster the #2 option? That is dumb. It's year two Baldwin needs to be in the #2 spot. This is a sad spot on our team. We have a clear #1 and basically nothing after him. Boss is out and Moeaki is not consistent. Someone not named Bowe needs to step up.

Another loss and it will be time to don the paper bag the new slogan will be GO CHEAPS! #GoCheaps
