Over the summer I had the Kansas City Chiefs ranked 21st in SB Nation's 2012 NFL power rankings. In Week 1, that dropped to No. 23. Last week that was down to No. 25.
And now, entering Week 3, the Chiefs have tumbled to No. 28. Here's the full set of power rankings with the San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans leading the charge.
Last year the Chiefs in Week 1 and 2 were beat by a combined score of 89-10. This year that total is only 75-41. Hooray for progress!
This team has too much talent to be ranked around teams like the St. Louis Rams, Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders. Kinda depressing (OK, a lot depressing).
A win against the New Orleans Saints next week would send KC in the right direction.
