It ALL starts at the top...and I mean the very top; Clark Hunt. There's plenty of blame to go around. Pioli and Romeo and all the way down to all the players on this team, for their lackluster, soul-less display on the field these past games (including pre-season). If you don't have a good, interested and passionate owner, you don't have a football team with a chance of success.
Clark Hunt is the problem. He's not a football fan, he's a soccer fan. There's nothing wrong with soccer but when the owner of a potentially great football team in one of the best football cities displays no interest in creating a winning franchise, there's a problem. There's plenty of anger toward Hunt due to the Chiefs being well under the cap and insinuating that's he's simply money-hungry. I'm not so sure about that, I think he and his family are fine enough on the money front. I really believe it's lack of interest. I don't know that he'd be opposed to sending our Chiefs to Los Angeles, or any other city as the highest bidder. That doesn't work for me and I have a feeling that wouldn't work for the majority of Kansas Citians.
A final thought to all fans and especially season ticket holders. You MUST vote with your wallet. Nothing will change as long as you continue to spend money on our mediocre team. Why would Hunt and company care about making drastic changes as long as people are still spending their money on the team? It doesn't make sense and progress can't be made unless you stop or we have some sort of change in ownership.
You can't make someone a fan of the game, but if Clark has any respect for this team and the city of Kansas City, he'll either discover a new found interest in football or hand the reigns over to someone with the passion necessary to incubate and deliver a winning franchise, something our great city deserves.
